For a long time I wondered if I should use bodybuilding supplements or just build muscle mass 100% in the natural way. Now that it’s been a while since I started and I understand the true nature of bodybuilding, I think I can help you to understand whether or not you need to use some extra protein or other products to help you grain more muscle faster.
The Wrights Brothers (the creators of the first successful airplane) believed that they needed to build a plane which could first fly by itself and without the help of an engine. They realized that if they could get something to fly by itself, then they could add the engine to propel it further and faster through the air.
Now the same goes for bodybuilding. Before you buy bodybuilding supplements, you need to make sure that you can workout just fine without them. You need to optimize other parts of your plan and then you can put an engine (supplements) on your progress. Because if you just stick a big engine of something which doesn’t fly – it won’t work.
To give you an example, I now use Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey Protein powder. But I never did for years in the beginning. This is because I couldn’t just consume supplements and expect to get results. First I needed a solid diet plan and workout routine, then I needed to give myself the motivation to push to the point of failure by myself.
Once I got to this level and I’d already got bigger in size and mass, I began to use a few protein products so that I could get extra gains on top of what I already had. You notice, that by this time I already had had some success and wasn’t new to working out and building muscle. This is key, because so many people just think that by eating bodybuilding products they will suddenly turn into the incredible hulk -false.
In fact, when wanna-be bodybuilders just consume protein powder and don’t workout – they get fat. And because they haven’t been doing any kind of proper workout routine, they can’t shake that fat off again so they’re in a far worse position than when they started!
So to conclude this article, I just want to make clear what I’ve been saying. Okay, so I’m not saying that you should never start using bodybuilding supplements, I’m just saying that it’s in your best interests to first make sure that you can build muscle by designing a great eating plan and exercise routine first.
An effective weight loss program would incorporate not only what kind of foods you need in your diet but also the type of exercises you need in order to burn those fats. The truth is that you don’t have to undergo those outrageous fats and spend all your time doing cardio once you learn what makes an effective weight loss program. Read on:
1. Incorporate incline walking into your exercise routine
If you want to lose your weight faster, dieting should be combined with exercising. Relying on only one of these two components would only give you temporary results, as well as a long time before you can see any difference.
Walking is a good exercise but it will be even better if you walk in an inclined direction. If you don’t have a hill near your house, an inclined treadmill is a great way to do some incline walking exercises.
A treadmill that’s inclined at least 10-15 degrees is enough. An inclined walk of about 25 minutes will also do you good, and you’ll realize how it helps get rid of unwanted flabs. You will discover that incline walking is an important part of an effective weight loss program.
2. What the fitness experts prescribe in a weight loss program: apples and the so called protein shakes
The apples and the protein shakes are not your normal meals. They are just meant as snacks which you can eat in between meals for you not to overindulge when it comes to eating your lunch or dinner.
An apple or a protein shake has around 30 grams of protein and you can alternate between the two. This doesn’t mean skipping on your normal meals. You can eat regular food without “starving” yourself to death just because you would want to be slimmer. A couple of hours after lunch and you feel the hunger pangs, take a bite of apple, and see the difference.
Incorporating the said tips into your weight loss program would not only give you a leaner or thinner body, but a healthy one at that.
A concern I hear from clients is, “How do I raise my metabolism naturally?” Many people do not want to feel like they have to turn to pills and potions to get a faster burning metabolism yet they don’t see how they can raise it up without them. This article shares with you the best ways to up your metabolic rate and all the tips are things you can do without spending a dime and without adding more to your list of things to do. I encourage you to take a couple of minutes to read on.
How do I raise my metabolism naturally?
1. Choose whole foods. The harder your body has to work to process the foods you eat the more you help your metabolic rate. Foods such as proteins, whole grains that are high in fiber, whole fruits and vegetables take a long time for your body to break down and your metabolism will rise in response to these foods.
2. Give your diet a weekly calorie boost. If you stay on a low calorie diet week after week your metabolism will drop. To boost it up naturally all you must do is eat more one day a week. An additional 25-50% will do the trick.
3. Exercise with resistance. The best natural metabolic boost will come from adding muscle. Every pound of muscle requires your metabolism to burn 50 calories a day. 3 days a week working with weights or even using your body weight for resistance will help you add to your muscle mass.
4. Eat breakfast. When you start your day with a good breakfast that contains lean protein, whole grains and whole fruit your metabolism springs into action setting the tone for your day.
5. Recharge for 7 to 8 hours. Rest is as important and any of the other tips. At night your body recharges and without this time you feel drained and your metabolism suffers.
